Springville Fifth Ward

I stumbled on this gem while driving through Springville one day. It was completed in 1950--usually I regard chapels built before 1950 as "historic" for this blog, but it's close enough.

It originally housed the Springville 5th and 6th wards of the Kolob Stake. (That stake still exists.) The inside is nice, with lots of natural light and some beautiful organ pipes.

However, it was the exterior that really caught my eye. The building is covered with some nice decorative symbols in its stone.

Sometimes, just a little bit of extra detail makes a building really stick out.

  1. The stonework really sets it apart from so many others of the same era and style!
