Heber Tabernacle
The beautiful sandstone of the Heber Tabernacle stands in the center of the city.
The tabernacle was very nearly torn down in the 1960s, and was only saved because of the constant efforts of many citizens of Heber to save the building.
While the building still stands, the interior has been remodeled to house the Heber City offices. So the interior above does not exist anymore, but at least they still have the building.

Sugarhouse Ward: Stained Glass Detail
Only the front of the building has stained glass, and it's the simplest kind--painted glass. It's still really beautiful, particularly this window at the back of the chapel. Notice how the wall continues up just at this portion to allow the full window to shine? It's lovely.

Sugarhouse Ward: Bas-relief Detail
The image at the front of the chapel looks like a painting, but it's actually a bas-relief done by the famous Torleif Knaphus. I tried to get a picture of it from an angle so that you can see the depth:
You'll notice that this actually depicts three scenes: the Hill Cumorah on the left, the First Vision in the center, and the Susquehanna River on the right; all important sites in the history of the Church.
It's very well done.

Sugarhouse Ward: Interior
Notice how the rostrum is arranged: organ, choir seats, then the pulpit.
These windows lead into a cry room (although now it's just used as a classroom).
Head up the staircase in the lobby and you get to the small balcony at the back.

Sugarhouse Ward
There's a lot to love in the Sugarhouse Ward's chapel, which now holds a YSA ward and acts as an institute building.
I took LOTS of pictures of the inside. There'll be a lot of posts coming on this building!
