Built in 1911, the Clearfield Ward is magnificent.

Unfortunately, the Church was sold decades ago, and it's now being used as a warehouse. It's in extremely poor condition.
I'm not sure what the future of this chapel will be. Someone would have to purchase it and restore it, and soon, in order for it to be saved.

That is a nice chapel. Very unique style for that time frame. I hope someone can restore it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely building, and the brickwork itself is holding up OK. It definitely needs some care, though.
DeleteVery sad to see this magnificient chapel in such poor condition. :( The difference between the black/white photo early 20 th century and now leaves me in important sadness ! How possible to buy a so lovely pretty church to make a handware?! These photos being perhaps taken some years ago, I would be curious to see the update situation of this chapel! The removed vestibule got off isn't the worst element, but rather the large platform in front of this chapel is awful . It would have been a better solution to sale the building for a library or little museum; whyn't a beautiful appartment wth the condition of respecting the outside look of the church? An other good idea would have been to be bought by a protestant denomination with the same old pews and of course the former LDS pulpit! (sorry for eventual mistakes, being French!)
