This chapel is a great example of the "Colonel's Twins" plan of LDS meetinghouses. An example of this is found in the previously documented Belvedere Ward, but this building is a bit larger and more grand.

I believe Nibley Park was the first official implementation of the "Colonel's Twins" plan, although experimental designs like Sugar House had been built before. It is also one of the finest examples.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely more ornate and stately than some of the other chapels with this plan (such as Mink Creek or Belvedere). Sugarhouse may beat it out as my personal favorite, though.
