Twenty-fourth Ward (Salt Lake)

Built around 1907, the 24th Ward chapel has a very nice architectural style that is unique in Mormon culture. The narrow tower over the main entrance, the curved wall on the north side, and the split staircase leading up to the main doors are all very nice features for this building.

The building is still standing, but it was sold by the Church many years ago. Now it houses a music company.

  1. I just love how Victorian the 24th ward chapel looks. Growing up I always loved seeing it as you drive down the 600 north overpass. I was very relieved to find out it was purchased and is going through if it hasn't already a renovation. The 24th ward has an interesting story. The ward was organized in 1898, discontinued in 1902, reorganized again in 1906 and this gem was built a year later. The ward was discontinued this time in 1969 due to lack of membership. I am so happy the building is still standing.

  2. The building is now the home of the Salt Lake Choral Artists and Salt Lake Vocal Artists community choirs.
