Bonneville Ward: Stained Glass & Chapel Details

This window was made by D'Ascenzo Studios of Philadelphia. It was donated by Junius and Margaret Jackson.

The window is based on Heinrich Hoffman's Christ in Gethsemane.

I also liked some of the molding details in the chapel:

And this was hanging in the lobby. You never know what you'll find in some of these churches.

  1. Wow! Thank you for the detailed photos of the window. I can even see the disciples sleeping in the background. Any idea who did the calligraphy art? The drawings are similar in color and style to Minerva Teichert.

  2. Unfortunately, I don't have any more information on the window, besides the studio that made it and the painting it's based on. I definitely like the style of the window, though; and I can see how it would look similar to a Teichert painting! No source I've found has indicated her involvement at all, though.

  3. I see there is a signature on the art in the lobby, but I can't read it. It looks like it says Elaine or Blaine, not Minerva. But the drawings resemble Teichert's figures and color schemes.

    1. Sorry--I didn't realize you were talking about the art in the lobby, not the window. It's signed "Blaine McCune, '50".

  4. This is fun to see. We have this exact window in our chapel here in Farmington, NM. It was donated to our chapel by the Taylor family back in 1955.
